No Exit

Season 1, Episode 7

Original Air Date: 11/09/1984

Songs Featured: Teddy Pendergrass "Stay With Me", Phil Collins "I Don't Care Anymore".

Notable Guest Stars: Bruce Willis

Essential Viewing: No

Originally broadcast as Three-Eyed Turtle, No Exit is the first non-essential episode of "Miami Vice". Casual viewers might be inclined to watch it for an early Bruce Willis appearance but there are no continuity reasons that make it a necessary watch.

The bulk of the episode focuses on the Vice Squad investigating international gun runner Tony Amato (Bruce Willis). While staking him out the team learns that he is also an abusive husband. This bothers Crockett most of all and he takes a personal interest in the case. Eventually the feds get involved and claim that Crockett and Tubbs aren't seeing the bigger picture. They are most concerned with getting dangerous weapons off the streets and see Amato as a potential asset. In the end Amato is taken down but not in a way that anyone would have expected.
